Interleaved mode of STM32 AD converters and its application

Patrik JACKO, Dobroslav KOVÁČ

For the quality digital signal converted from some analog signal is necessary fast and reliable analog to digital converter. Parallel analog-digital converter is the fastest but there is one big disadvantage – its size.

If we want high number bit of parallel converter, there must be high number of comparators. There is other way for high speed analog to digital conversions. The microcontrollers STM32 of STMicroelectronics Company have implemented approximation convertors (slower than parallel convertors) with fast modes of conversion. The interleaved mode is one of them. It is fast mode where are used two or more analog-digital converters. This article describes interleaved mode of STM32F446RE microcontroller and its applications.
